What are some considerations for programmatically retrieving measurements from my oscilloscope?

There are two measurement type, MEAS:MEAS and MEAS:IMMEDiate. Use MEAS:MEAS to display measurements on the scope front-panel screen. Use MEAS:IMMEDiate if you do not want the measurements displayed on the screen.

You can drive the waveform update rate faster if you use immediate measurements rather than displayed measurements because they are computed only when needed.
