How do you test against audio limits using the "View Audio Auto Test" program?

Ответ :

First of all... in order for the automated audio tests on the VM700T to work properly you need to be using an audio generator that is capable of producing the Tek Test audio streams produced by an ASG100/140, the ANSI standard T1.502-1988, EIA/TIA-250-C, or CCITT Recommendation O.33.

The VM700T will wait until it hears the preamble tone sequence at the beginning of a compliant test stream while the audio auto test program is running. Once it detects a valid stream it will begin analyzing it.

There are a few steps required to configure the test limits used in this program:

First, you will need to crate an audio limits file. To do this, press the "Configure" button and then press the "Configure Files" softkey to open the configuration files directory, from here, open the "Audio_Limit Files" and press the "Create File" softkey to create a new limit file. The VM700T will ask you to select a file to use as a template, choose any of the built-in audio limits files you wish, the "End To End" one is a good start, next the instrument will ask you to name your new limits file, when you are done naming it, press the "end" softkey to finish. You should now see the contents of your new limits file, use the general purpose knob to scroll through the various limits and touch any selected value you wish to change using the touch screen, then use the general purpose knob to adjust that value. Once the value is set to your liking press the "Accept Input" softkey, when you have set all the values to your liking, press the "Update & Exit" softkey to finish making your limits file.

Now go back to the configuration files directory, and open the "Audio Source Files" directory. From here, create a new audio source file by pressing the "Create File" softkey and choose the "System Default" as a template, then name the file. Once this is done, the audio source file will be open, scroll down to the "Audio Limit File" entry (at the top of the list) and touch the selected file to change it. Use the general purpose knob to scroll through the available audio limit files until you see the file you created earlier, press the "Accept Input" and "Update & Exit" buttons to save these settings.

Now go back to the configuration files directory and open the "Source_Selection Audio" file. In this file, you can configure which channels will use which source files for their automated tests. Scroll down the channel you wish to test, touch the selected entry to modify it, then use the general purpose knob to scroll through the available source files and select the one you previously created. Press the "Accept Input" and "Update & Exit" softkeys to save this setting.

Now your VM700T should be configured with your new audio limits. Simply press the measure button, then select the "View Audio Auto Test" program and then send a complaint audio test stream as described above into the instrument to perform a test. The limit violations column will remain empty until there is a limit violation, you can test this by setting unreasonably tight limits in your limits file and then running a test to see the violations.
