Embedded Design Techniques for Optimizing Control Parameters


In the process of optimizing control functions, small adjustments in microcontroller firmware can produce significant improvements in embedded system design's performance. Coming up with the right values for gains, offsets, delays, hysteresis values and PWM parameters can be time consuming, but using the right tools can speed the process. This application note covers three actual applications in which specific measurement techniques were used to quickly optimize key control parameters in microcontroller-based systems.
